About Alex

I'm Alex Figarola - Stylist and Hair Replacement Specialist based in Asbury Park, New Jersey. I opened my shop, Matte Black Hair Studio, located in the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel, in the Fall of 2021.

I started my career at a professional hair salon, specializing in Women's hair. During my time there, I began to gather a large clientele of both men and women. My passion for barbering grew to a point where I wanted to pivot to specializing in Men's hair styling. Over the past 15 years, I saw both men & women struggle and stress over thinning hair and hair loss. I began to focus on finding a solution for my clientele. Today, I run Matte Black Hair Studio focusing on both barbering and Hair Restoration Services, specifically Non-Surgical Hair Replacement using hair systems.
